Overview

Pawel & Ebola investigates spirituality, hysteria and the female voice in the age of disaster and consumerism. The play follows a dysfunctional brother and sister – the fictional offspring of infamous French neurologist and hysteria clinician Dr. Jean-Martin Charcot – whose world is disrupted by the arrival of a bizarre cult named “The Method.” A hybrid language and fragmented narrative convey a world torn between the precarity of global capitalism and the sexual repression and institutionalized misogyny of the 19th century.
